Lucifer was always an asshole. I mean, he was a likable asshole, like Philip K. Dick, from all the accounts I get of him. It wasn’t that one day he turned his entire personality around, not like that of all. I can imagine that the change in his character was subtle, easy to write off. There was no precursor, after all, to evil. That was entirely his baby. Another beginning.
People ask how a perfect creator could make imperfect creations, like us. But no, you see: that was Lucifer. God did not invent pain. Why did he do it? Haven’t you ever wondered? The story goes, Lucifer decided that if he couldn’t be the best, he would become the worst. Which is reasoning one can understand—fucked reasoning, but it has a logic to it, at least.
